Gaelic Brew had the privilege of playing for the People’s Regatta in Cobh Friday night. The town center had been closed of to allow people of all ages to dance around the streets.
Arriving on stage after a great original local band ‘The Bermhas’, Gaelic Brew received a rapturous roar and round of applause. Needing no encouragement, we immediately had people swaying and jumping around. A fantastic spectacle of stage management by Kevin, the stage, lights, rigging and sound were superb and second to none.
We played 2hrs of non-stop hits from days gone by, one after another and even brought some fantastic volunteers out for a great rendition of “The Siege of Ennis”. We were also joined on-stage by a new member of Gaelic Brew, little Seanie (6yrs old). Seanie helped out our drummer Scott to a crowd pleasing version of Dirty Ole Town.
Thanks again to the organizers of The People’s Regatta of Cobh for inviting us to play this great festival. Hopefully we will be invited back for 2016.
