I’m going to try and set the scene for you here,
We are walking downhill from the parking lot towards the top end of Clematis Street, West Palm Beach. The road is blocked off by Police barriers and a Police car. The sun is shining, you can hear crowds having fun. There are marquees up, a 16 wheeler beer truck, stand alone whiskey bars, souvenir stands selling everything green and Patrick’s day. We get closer to the doors of O’Shea’s Bar, our Floridian home. As we walk through the door, our friend George is on stage singing a few songs and stops singing, keeps the tune going on the guitar and announced over the microphone….”Ladies and Gentlemen, although they are only 2 years late, please stand and give a proud Florida welcome, Live from County Cork, Yes folks, they have arrived, to the one, the only GAELIC BREW.
It was the first time I think that we ever got an introduction like it and walking through O’Shea’s Bar, giving high 5′s to friends and punters alike, I must admit, it felt great.
We took to the stage and belted out hit after hit on Friday night, Saturday from 2pm to 01.00am and St. Patrick’s day on the Sunday from 2pm to 12am.
We could not have imagined a better reception and it was so great to meet the O’Shea’s Irish Bar family again. We would like to thank Maurice and Rachel Costigan for holding on long enough for us, it was a “squeaky bum” time there for a while, however, we finally got there and boy, it felt great
